Description:The project involves the construction of an addition and renovation to the existing library. The 17,000 SF addition is a two (2) story structural steel framed with bar joist and metal decking, and masonry exterior and metal studs and gypsum wall board interior. The addition involved site work, concrete foundation, gypsum wallboard, painting, acoustical ceiling system, modular carpet tile, porcelain tile, vinyl composition tile, steel and wood doors and frames, hardware, blast-resistant aluminum doors and frames, blast-resistant aluminum windows, operable partitions, plastic laminated casework with solid surface top, toilet partitions, toilet accessories, fire extinguishers, interior and exterior signage, and other. Description: The project involved the construction of a new $3.552 million Training Support Center at Fort Rucker, AL. The facility is one (1) story and is over 25,000 SF in size. The facility is structural steel framed with standing seam metal roof and reinforced masonry walls with an exterior finish of brick and metal siding combination. Foundation is reinforced spread footings with reinforced slab. Facility has an administrative area, classrooms, toilets, break room, fabrication and maintenance shop, and a combination warehouse and storage area. This was a multi-discipline project involving gypsum wallboard, painting, acoustical ceiling, carpet tile flooring, porcelain tile, vinyl composition tile, doors and hardware, casework, interior signage, and other. Other work involved HVAC system, plumbing system, electrical systems, fire protection system, energy monitoring system, commissioning of the HVAC system, fire alarm system, mass notification system, lightning protection system and other. Extensive data and communication systems were installed. Air barrier system testing of the building envelope is required. Exterior work involved demolition of existing paved areas and other, new vehicle parking area, curb and gutter, storm drainage system, sanitary sewer system, reinforced 5000 psi concrete pavement, and fencing. Contract has LEED requirement to obtain Silver Rating. A contract modification was issued for the procurement and installation of all furnishings for the facility.

Description: Vertical Division - This Design/Build project includes renovations and alterations to four buildings: A three story housing building renovation included reconfiguring temporary housing to provide hotel type rooms with private restrooms, coffee maker and microwaves for each housing unit as well as several suites with separate living/kitchenette spaces. Accessible guest rooms and suites are provided as well as a conference room, staff offices and building service areas. The exterior of the block and concrete structure received an EIFS finish system and standing seam metal roof. A new covered drop off area was provided with driveway, retention area and landscaping.

The dining/fitness renovation included complete interior renovation. Separate entries for each function were provided allowing the fitness center to enlarge. The locker and shower areas were increased and saunas added. Existing abandoned freezers and restrooms were removed and an exercise room and classroom added. The dining room received new finishes, new restrooms, larger window openings and a covered patio for dining, resulting in a much brighter, and more usable space. Both facilities were made handicapped accessible.

The hangar facility renovation included complete renovation of administrative areas, addition of tool room area within the hangar bay and re-insulation of the hangar walls and fire suppression for the facility. An addition for the fire pump equipment was provided. A portion of the roof was replaced and miscellaneous repairs to the building were made.

The administrative building renovation included complete renovation of the interior spaces, an addition for a new chiller/air handler, and replacement of exterior windows throughout as well as a new standing seam roof and fire suppression system.
